Wellbeing Futures builds teams around the specific requirements of projects, drawing on international expertise from across the wellbeing space, including vision creation, concept development, project design, sustainability and innovation, cultural integrity, program evaluation, IP creation and protection, social media marketing.
Wellness Futures was founded in 2024 by Professor Gerry Bodeker, a Harvard-trained public health specialist, who researches and advises on integrative medicine and wellbeing. Gerry has researched and taught in medical sciences at Oxford University for two decades, is adjunct professor of epidemiology at Columbia University and adjunct professor of integrative medicine at the University of Western Sydney. Early in his career, he worked with indigenous Australian communities and is the author of several publications on indigenous peoples, health and traditional medicine.
He works with the wellness sector, governments and UN agencies advising on culturally themed wellbeing strategies. He has served as an advisor to National Geographic Magazine and CNN and is featured in the award-winning BBC series In Pursuit of Wellness.
He is Founding Chair of the Mental Wellness Initiative of the Global Wellness Institute and chairman of the Global Initiative For Traditional Systems of Health (GIFTS of Health), Oxford, UK.
Gerry is a member of Green Templeton College, University of Oxford, Oxford’s graduate college dedicated to human welfare.
He is the recipient of the Global Wellness Institute’s Deborah Simon Award for Advancing Mental Wellness. In the field of wellness centres and destinations
Gerry and other members of the Wellness Futures team have developed foundational wellness and cultural
concepts and consulted with Four Seasons hotels in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand; Mandarin
Oriental in Thailand; and co-founded with the Marriott Group a forest immersion wellness
